Go together like birds of a feather, right?
The Globe's Brian Mooney's saying wrong on healthcare reform. This is bizarre. My thoughts were that by being against the Senate bill, Lynch was shoring up labor support for a threeway fight in November between himself, Dunkelbarger (who is running as an Independent unless I got that wrong at some point), and Lepor.
Now, maybe Lynch is being shrewd. Everyone saw the ascension of Scott Brown. I recall MassBeacon's Conor Yunits analyzing the difference between the pro-Coakley labor leadership and the rank-and-file union members who voted for Brown in droves.
I'm thinking Representative Lynch might be appealing to the rank-and-file of labor, going over the heads of the leadership, with this stance. I think the House has the votes regardless, and Lynch is exercising a little independence now that will pay off in November. But it'll hurt him with the "Draft Harmony Wu" crowd that recently hit Facebook and Blue Mass Group.

If after having won concessions for the union in the current bill - raising the bar for the gold-plated health insurance tax - Lynch votes no, he's no better than the scumbag Republicns who killed the public option and then voted no on the final bill.
Why do the Dems capitulate and get nothing in return?
