'Round the Bubblah 03-08-2010

In case you missed it, I posted LMT Weekend Edition Vol. 1 yesterday.  I now update on Sundays.

Brian Mooney examines Governor Patrick and labor in the Globe.  Relations are shaky because of moves Patrick has made during this financial crisis.  The Outraged Liberal asks what good labor leadership is today after the leadership supported Coakley, but the rank and file turned out for Brown on January 19th.  The Globe points out that Governor Patrick's opponents in November's election have said that Patrick's supposedly "anti-union" measures didn't go far enough.  Not examined: Dr. Stein and Ms. Ross.

David Bernstein sits up in bed and shouts "I CALLED IT!"

The Massachusetts Senate Republicans, in a blog called Scaling the Hill 2010, recap Governor Patrick's failed footbridge to Gillette Stadium.

Red Mass Goup's Rob Eno reports on the nursing home tax increase.  Yes, there's a nursing home tax.  And yes, Gov. Patrick increased it.

Adrian Walker examines the new 2012-Romney in the Globe.

Christine McConnville reports on the struggle between Milton and the state regarding the Ulin skating rink in the Herald.

The AP reports on efforts to include every Mass Asian in this census.

The ACLU is arguing that school uniforms are illegal in Massachusetts, reports WCVB.

Clive McFarlane in the Worcester Telegram reviews the new anti-"No child left behind" book, The Death and Life of the Great American School System by Diane Ravitch, a former supporter of "No child...".

Jay Fitzgerald follows up on the Brown tsunami (ew...) red tide sweeping the state.

Universal Hub's Adam Gaffin reports on ways you can rally to save your local library branch in the face of upcoming budget cuts.
