'Round the Bubblah 03-22-2010

In case you missed it, I started LMT Weekend Edition back up.  Vol. II was yesterday.

So, healthcare passed last night.  Every member of the Massachusetts delegation (except Representative Lynch) voted for the bill (from WCVB).  Lynch voted for the reconciliation fixes after the bill passed (from the AP).  Lynch sat down with Fox to discuss his decision.

The Globe breaks down what the new bill means for Massachusetts.

Jeff Perry, a Republican challenger in the Massachusetts Tenth, issued a statement regarding the bill.  MassBeacon's Conor Yunits has the full text.

Senator Brown, again showing his ignorance of how DC works, is urging his followers to call their Senator to gum up the works on the reconciliation bill, reports the Herald's Joe Dwinell.  He doesn't seem to understand that healthcare reform is already going to be the law of the land, and that he's just voting to fix the bill before it goes into effect.  That's the generous view, that he's ignorant of what's going on.  If he does know what he's doing, he's asking the voters to tell their Senators to not fix the healthcare overhaul because Americans will be happy with the fixes and the Republicans can't have that come November.

Sometimes I'm too cynical.  Maybe he's just ignorant.

Jay Fitzgerald analyzes the upcoming midterm election for Congress with regards to Massachusetts.

Jessica van Slack talks health care and the governor's race.

The Tim in Ten campaign responded to yesterday's Globe story by two journalism students and their professor, reports Conor Yunits.  The Globe's James Vaznis reports that the Baker and Mihos campaigns are already using the story to attack Cahill.

The Globe analyzes Charlie Baker's gubernatorial chances.  I'll stick with the time-held advice that he peaked too early in his attempt to capitalize on Brown's win.  You do that and it draws all the attention on you.
